Currently in my feelings. Decided to turn on some music and write. Rod Wave is blasting through the speakers of my headphones. For some reason I am unable to bring myself to write a sad post. Seems as if I have been complaining a lot lately so today I am acknowledging the fact that it’s not all bad.
September 1st of 2019 I drove Flicka, my 1986 Chevy G20 Van, on I95 for over two hours. It was our longest trip yet. Even though the back of the van was total chaos and I had no real idea how I was going to make things work when I got to VA, I never felt more free.

As some of you know #vanlife was short lived for me. There were many downs but the ups were worth it. Long story short the van starts just fine but wont move in any gear. So at the moment #vanlife is on pause for me. This brings me to some of the things I am grateful for.

My girlfriend came to pick me up and the van was towed to her mothers’ place. There was never a discussion of where I was going to go. Her mother welcomed me into her home despite the fact that she didn’t know me from a can of paint and I wasn’t asked for anything in return. Now her mother tells people I’m her daughter-in-law. So I am grateful to have had a place to stay when things didn’t go according to plan. I am grateful for never feeling unwelcome in their home.
I am grateful to be closer to my family and able to visit and see them more frequently. So it’s not all bad. There are good things that have come out of my current situation and I realize now that it is important for me to recognize those things. It is important for me to show gratitude. To exert the energy of appreciation into the world for the things that I do have.
Be sure to do the same. I promise that things aren’t all bad. There’s something or someone in your life that you can show appreciation to or for.
