Tips For Being Vegetarian

Back with another #meatlessmonday post. As you can tell by the title ya girl is giving you some tips on being vegetarian. Before we jump into the post I want to thank you for all the love I have been getting lately. I want you all to know that I noticed and that I appreciate you! 

On to the post, 

Tips For Being Vegetarian

Know what it means to be a vegetarian. 

It is important to know exactly what it means to be a vegetarian. Knowing what you can and cannot eat before committing to this new lifestyle is the smartest thing you can do. You also want to decide exactly where you draw the line. 

Make sure it is something that you really want to do.

Being a vegetarian, like many other things, comes easy to some but is much harder for others. Knowing that it is something you truly want to do will make it much easier to stick to. You want your journey to be as smooth as possible. 

Promise yourself you will be open to trying new things and retrying old things. 

As your food options will decrease it would be wise to remain open to trying new foods. Sticking to your new lifestyle will be easier if you have tons of options. I would also recommend trying those foods you “do not like” but actually never tasted and also the ones you have eaten as a child and decided you didn’t like. Trust me, your taste buds change. I eat so many things I did not like previously and actually love them. If I were not open to retrying and trying things I would be missing out on great options.

Take it one day at a time. 

Honestly, I always recommend taking things one day at a time but especially when it comes to making lifestyle changes that you really want to stick to. So what does this look like? It looks like being patient with yourself, being forgiving, understanding, and encouraging. You may have a slip up and that’s okay. Recognize that this is a big lifestyle change and that it is not going to happen over night. Compliment yourself on the great strides you’ve made so far, forgive yourself for the slip up and encourage yourself to start again tomorrow. You got this!

Surround yourself with other vegetarians. 

Surrounding yourself with like minded people is powerful. It may not always be easy to physically surround yourself with other vegetarians, especially if you do not personally know any, but you can virtually do so. Follow vegetarian/vegan accounts on all of your social media platforms. Seeing other people share their journey, different meals, products, and recommendations will inspire you and help you tremendously. 

Have fun. 

Don’t be so serious in the beginning, Just have fun. 


Alright guys, those are my tips for being a vegetarian. I do want to say that these are tips that will be beneficial to someone in the decision making stage or someone who has just made the decision to transition.
