9 Habits of Happy and Healthy Couples

We all want a long lasting relationship, one that is healthy and leaves us feeling as if we are living in our favorite love story. According to various married couples of many walks of life (various religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, culture, etc.) who have been married for 25+ years, it isn’t at all out of reach.

After watching numerous interviews of married couples, who had been together for at least 25 years, discussing their love life and the secret to their everlasting love, I made a list of habits that they all seem to have. If you too would like to be in a relationship for 25+ years pick up these 9 habits and you will be sure to live happily ever after.

Humor.

Don’t go to sleep angry.

Put each other first and the kids second. 

Be tolerant of one another.

Communication.

Do not forget the small things.

Friendship.

Don’t be petty.

Do not keep score.

These 9 habits were mentioned by married couples of 25+ years when asked various questions pertaining to how they managed to keep each other happy and their relationship healthy for all these years. It is without question that being in a relationship for 25+ years takes work from both partners and may require more than just these # habits; however having these 9 habits guarantee you more than half the battle.
